They're all here!

cemetery

my friend called me, its almost 8 midnight, i was 15 and in high school worrying about pimples and my chemistry instructor who was the subject of my day time fantasies. he wants me to meet him in front of the concrete arch way upon which the words its our time now, soon it will be yours are written. i always see this on my way home from school, in fact i hated it everytime i passed by the cemetery and see these words written by the gate. it reminds me of death. it reminds me that someday i will be all bones and dust. what made things worst is that i'm studying in a catholic school so everyday i have to listen to my religion instructor as she talks about all the gruesome details of death. my mother asked me where i'm going as i put on an old sweater that i got from the trash the other day. i told her i will meet my friend by the cemetery, few blocks from where we live. she said that its too late, i told her, its halloween, we will go trick and treating. my mom gave me the look telling me that i am too old for such stuff. i told her, our neighbor does it, and he's like 55. i don't think there should be an age limit for trick and treating after all everybody loves free stuff. she just sighed and continue with what she was doing, which is cleaning the stove. i always told her to stop doing that, cause its just too much work, in fact its not even a stove, its just a concrete top with two bricks and two thick steel rods. we live in an island at that time, so we don't have any electricity not even gas stove. we used wood for cooking in fact i almost burned our bamboo house one time, but that's another story. my friend was standing impatiently at the steel gate, the cemetery's gate was partially open. holding a torch in my hand i blinded him by directing the light on his eyes. he told me to cut it off. i asked him why he looks so tensed and shooked up. he told me that after he called me, he went inside and started reading the names and dates on the grave yard, and while browsing through the cemetery, he saw an opened concrete compartment, he looked inside and he saw a wooden coffin with the lid partially opened. i looked inside the cemetery, it was so dark there, i can't believe he went inside, the only light came from the moon, which was full at that time. what is wrong with my friend why suddenly he has a grave yard fetish? my eyes gets wider and the tiny hairs from my arms starts to rise, as my friend described what he had seen. he said he saw a young man in his early twenties, dressed up in what seemed like an old spanish soldier uniform with a silver star on one of his shirt pocket, he is lying on dried twigs and leaves but what makes it weird is that it seems that he just passed away, it seems like he was sleeping, he looks so peaceful. i got scared. i told him that we should go on and do the trick and treating, we have more than an hour walk to town and stopped wasting our time on silly stories and besides your not suppose to disturb anybody who is sleeping cause that is so unfashionable. he held my hand and handed me a hersheys bar. he cut it in half. he said to me if i go inside the cemetery with him, i can keep half of the chocolate. i had not tasted hersheys at that time, the smell of it tempted me and the thought that i might not be able to eat another hersheys bar in my life cause we live in a secluded island prompted me to say yes. we went inside the cemetery, i felt my heart beat, increasing its beats, cold sweats forming on my forehead. i mean, this is an abandoned cemetery, its so dark, normal people don't go here at night time, looking at the crosses and concrete statues of angels and saints clothed in darkness, totally gives me the creeps, and what should i do if my friend was right, if there is a body out there who looks so real and appeared to be sleeping, will i shout or just freak out, part of me feels that he is just joking, but what if he was right and not lying and worst of all, what if i actually see the body? i followed him through the narrow road bumping into stones, fallen crosses and other stuff i did not dared to look at, i felt the cold night air as it touched my face. happy halloween everyone!

jake

i feel like doing what jake did in his shots from dylan rosser, i don't know sometimes i would wake up and just feel like everything seems the same. the daily routines get into me these days. when i was doing an internship job couple of years ago, the hr girl placed me in a small room filled with boxes, all stacked up to the ceiling. in a friendly voice she gave me the list of things that i have to do, in a nut shell, the job is opening those files, sorting them out, arranging them in order and doing a data entry for all these things. weeks later i would wake up full of energy, i can't wait to go to work, i love being inside that tiny room even if it make my brain freeze. it reminds me of surgery rooms in hospitals minus the nurses and scrub suits. as boring as it sounds i enjoyed the work. only when the realization hits me, my management professor upon reviewing my personality test told me that i am the type of person that loves routines, in fact i will do well in routine, safe jobs. the next day i quit my work. i guess, i don't want to be in a routine job doing safe things and get paid for it. i want a more challenging job, well i did get that, face down to the floor, it was the first time that i realized how cold our marble tiles feels like. i was working for a bank and at that time, masked forces that seemed to be in their early twenties seized the place, and we all go home that day feeling totally clueless about what happened. but i guess this is part of living, sometimes there are days where everything seems so fast, days where things fall on their right places but sometimes there are days where everything is the same. earlier today i mailed the final manuscript for prinz hilton. suppose to be i should be happy because the weeks of working on that stuff is finally over even if i still have to finish joe hunter, the other series. but i feel like there's a big part of me that goes with prinz. i feel like i abandoned him. sometimes i wished that prinz hilton is still a series here at expressmen. it added twist and excitement to the site. but i guess life is all about moving on. i have to let go of prinz, after all he is only a fragment of my imagination. he is my mind product. and i can always create another prinz hilton. but of course, it will different. it will never be prinz..

patric jason

i recently started a new blog, its called patric jason. so i hope that you'll check it out and support it just as you had supported expressmen and next model men, of which i am really thankful. i truly appreciate all your comments and emails...sorry if i am delayed in answering those emails...don't worry, i promised to get back to all of you..i am currently working on that..the new blog is more of a photo journey. its like looking at my world through my eyes. it will feature original photos. of different subjects, but most of the time you will noticed that i am fascinated with buildings and structures. i don't know why, i think its just me...i feel that structures in any form has their own story to tell and i hope to capture and tell that story. i know that there's alot of people who are asking me about what happened to the series prinz hilton and the new one joe hunter. a private buyer bought both story. even if i am not even half way done with them, so writing for both series also keeps me busy these days as i tried to finish it up. i can't use the plot anymore but i can still use some elements of prinz hilton, before i was thinking of doing an entire blog just about him, his affluent lifestyle and all the comedy and drama in between. maybe in the future. i think the story will be translated in different language. but that's the most that i can reveal...but anyway it was fun seeing both series here at expressmen. if you noticed as the weeks go by, expressmen changed its focus and become more of a modeling blog. which had always been my goal for expressmen, to become the venue for models and photographers to showcase their outstanding portfolios. because those hard work deserved to be highlighted. expressmen will answer the question on who is hot in the modeling field today. at the same time expressmen as well as next model men will always support new and up coming talents whether in modeling or photography. that had always been the site's mission. thanks again for all your support and hope you'll check the new site out. truly expressmen lives to its name...always exciting...always expressmen.

philip is from london, he had been modeling for almost a year now, and he's interested in doing more projects with wild and eccentric concepts. his involvement in this field is not limited to modeling, in fact he got the bronze award at the british amateur international film festival for his kung fu spoof master. philip is NEXT. exclusive interview happening only in the site of excitement. EXPRESSMEN.

Always exciting. Always expressmen.

"in a photographic sense, i love the old masters like bruce weber, i've been fortunate enough to have held a copy of chop suey club and have a good read through, the whole book is a master piece. herb writts, aspects of greg gormond and the early versace images are all superb. in a personal sense, i'd say people inspire me, individuals who excel against all odds to achieve their potentials"

"i love film and choreography, whether its dance or fight scene choreography, they both display incredible rhythm and timing, i have made a couple of short films loosely based on old school kung fu movies, quite light hearted stuff, a lot of fun. snowboarding, skateboarding, breakdancing, thai boxing, cooking, fashion, property."

"for me, being involved in shoots is good fun and beats fixing peoples houses on weekends, which is what i used to do for a living! although still working in construction would like to 'fly a few kites' so to speak."

credits: gary holmes

"last year, around this time, i was in asia! i had been selected to represent uk in the karate world championships in japan, the preparation was really hard because i was working full time as well as training every day. it was a fantastic experience and the japanese were excellent hosts, in the competition, i got through the 3rd round but took a pasting from azerbaijan, those guys are so hungry for it, you could tell that was their life, they went on to win the whole thing and later we found out most of them were special forces back home! tokyo is a great city, i would love to go back, but maybe with modelling next time, i couldn't afford to otherwise, its a very expensive place."

credits: john musson

"out door stuff in the uk this time of year can be a bit chilly, apart from that i enjoy most shoots, that may sound like an automated response but as far as most jobs go, modelling is a lot more fun."

credits: john musson

"i had always been interested in modeling, but i didn't have the time when i was younger because of my training schedules in karate, but i think if you follow your dreams, you will achieve it, and this knowledge is something that i want to share to aspiring models, you have to be true to yourself, if you don't enjoy what you're doing, you shouldn't do it, whether its in front or behind the camera, always listen to people but make your own decision, remember the choices that you make will affect the results"

"the wildest photo shoot? early this year a friend of mine jennika argent had an idea for a shoot involving a stylist, a make up artist and some women's underwear! she wanted to put me in full female make up. the project was to try and reflect a man's desire to experiment with make up and explore his feminine side, i was reluctant to participate at first, but it was a unique experience and the final images were really cool, even my mum liked 'em!

"i love seeing my family after a hard day, i like going out with my brother just for some food or just sitting around doing absolutely nothing. i think in this field you should know where the door is, what key to use and when to unlock it"

philip is currently enjoying teaching self defense classes while continuing his studies in quantity surveying. he is so easy to work it, and very open to suggestions, so i think he will definitely make it because he can adapt to changing situations which is an everyday thing in modeling. to know more about philip or just to check him out click philip

museum

i hate museums, don't get me wrong, i love going there and seeing stuff i don't normally see in real life or while browsing inside banana republic or walgreens, and walmart twice a month. i think i should rather correct what i said earlier, what i mean to say is that i hate myself whenever i go inside the museum. the last time i went to a museum, i almost broke a crystal jar which is really valuable with the word russia written all over it. i don't really think its my fault, i just got carried away, i thought the jar was sitting inside a glass cube so i tried to go near the exhibit to see more details not knowing that its totally exposed to the cold museum air. micro seconds later, it almost fell to the floor, i caught it though, and nobody saw me. lucky me. but until now i never recovered from those micro second tensions. i blamed the glaring lights. i remember when i was young boy my mother never allowed me to go near the breakables, she said i have slippery hands. any materials that goes through my hands will always ends up in the floor, if not broken, they can be glued or duct taped to place. few days ago i was in this indian themed museum. initially i have no plans going inside but there's a couple of cuties mingling among the exhibit so i got attracted to go inside, not to see the artifacts but to plunge and absorb the cuteness around. i got my tiny camera with me, i lost the new one few weeks ago, i always told myself not to bring any camera whenever i go inside museums because the temptation to take a shot is so strong. what made it worse is the security guard approached me, i tried to cover the tiny camera on my hand, he said in a friendly voice that i can take some photos in the area where i was standing but not on other areas. so i took the chance. and i got these two photos. not that i find them interesting or exciting. its just the thrill of taking something inside a suppose to be prohibited area, the image quality is really poor, thanks to the glaring museum lights. as i took the third shot, i realized that there's a hand that is trying to get the camera from me, it was the security guard who this time is in his bi polar mode rushing into action, saving the day, he told me that there's a flash on the camera and that the posters and painting can be damaged, while struggling to take my camera from me, but i was like, how about those bright spot lights around? i concentrated on the camera, i will not let a security guard who acts like he owns the place beat me on this one, finally i succeeded. and that's when i realized that it is so unfashionable to fight with a security guard while being surrounded by ancient artifacts, i did get my camera back but i have to walk out immediately cause he is really into his bi polar mode and this time he is channeling it to everyone in the room, in a much louder voice he told everyone what i have done, as if i have stolen a priceless piece. gosh i really hate him. so i went out, but to my surprise one of the cute ones that i was eyeing earlier followed me, asking me if i was fine. i said quite well, just completely shaken, my eyes will win an oscar for drama. i got a date that night. no not in a museum, and not with that security guard but rather over $2 chopped barbecue porks on stick while strolling on old blue bricks of the ancient city. now that's the real museum.

"i didn't realize that I wanted to be a photographer until i hit 37 (at least professionally). the lesson learned is once you've found your passion pursue it (don't wait). when my mom died in 1997 i realized life is short so its time to seize the day. my motto is you know you are getting old when you regret the things you haven't done."

model: phil

"one model showed up with a really bad complexion (i shot anyways & have some good images). one model was very hesitant even after trying to be compliant with ever little wish . (i learned to take rejection). one model baulked (too camera shy) even after an interview & discussing what i expected (go figure - you can't please everyone), i guess these are all in a days work"

model: zach

"ansel adams was my original inspiration for photography. when i saw bruce weber's early work bear pond i knew i wanted to do that "when i grow up", lately ethan james has really great work"

model: bryan

"i would say my style would be a combination of bruce weber, howard roffman, ansel adams. first priority is to get interesting poses followed by clear, focused, properly exposed images. i can always adjust to black & white, color adjustments, remove defects but if the image is burnt out or boring there's no hope what so ever. sometimes only a part of an image is really great and i focus in on just that element."

model: peter

"current employment is ok, but doesn't fill my creative niche. thought about starting a photography career for the last 15 yrs. now that i am going on 52. it's do it or forget it time."

model: stefan

"a model's commercial life may be very brief. if you wait too long it may be too late. network, network, network baby. don't count on a model agency to do it all. be ready to model & if you are in school or other commitments give optional dates/times. can't tell you how many times models tell me they are not ready :[ always show up to a shoot on time, well rested, shaved, hair done, complexion as good as possible. be prepared (get references, ask questions, read contract, don't make assumptions).the same rules apply to good photography inversely (i.e. good models don't just show up at your door)."

"well most people have crazy dreams & want to move out of their little boxes (like stuck at a boring office desk job). i'm talking about a model i know right now (you know who you are). so embrace your crazy dreams like modeling (worst case you'll find out you had a fun adventure & maybe end up in a better place as part of the journey)"

"knowing that i did my best & didn't wait for fate to determine my future. i especially get a kick when a model i really want to work with feels the same!!!!! i see photography as a small way of being immortal. the images may well live on way past the model or the photographer. in some small way people years from now may be able to relive just a small part of what i have seen and the model has been (even if they are stuck at a boring office desk job)"

"what are the different kinds of virus and what anti-virus program would work well to eliminate these craps?"
<> i know one, its called herpes simplex virus, and what will work out well is hydrogen peroxide unless you wanna spend around 20 bucks for a topical relief

"do you know any insult that i can say but has some class and not trashy?"
<> have you call jenny craig yet?

"how do you join my space?"
<> first of all, you should have a computer. second, you should know how to key in the site name on the address bar, if you can't find the address bar, you have to call the local usps

ethan james goes express

model: clint

ethan picked up on digital photography somewhere in 2003, at that time he also focused his attention on a complex subject, he wanted his work to reflect the honesty and sincerity behind the human element,"i photograph people, for me you are a person first, and i will photograph you in that manner". ethan james is NEXT. he goes express and sit down with us to share his work, life and thoughts on photography. Only at expressmen.

always exciting. always expressmen.

model: erik

"i believe in reflecting the real image of the subject, there is no specific type, age, height or race, my photography is about the individual, our differences are what makes the images so powerful"

model: brandon

"i never really pictured myself going into photography, but i always considered myself a creative individual. i'm a creative writer and phd candidate in children's literature and film, so i love a good story and i guess that has transferred into my photos"

model: isaac

"neither models nor photographers should get into this field unless they are going to enjoy it. yes, it can be a job for both but it has to be a job they enjoy or else there's no point in doing any of it"

model: andrew

"new models should seek out quality photographers to build up their portfolios and new photographers should seek out quality models to do the same. i won't get into a discussion about who deserves to be paid (we all know the photographers deserve it) or which person is more important, but i will say both will go further in the field if they remain honest to themselves and to those they are fortunate to work with on projects."

model: alan

"people inspire me, because their differences are what allow me to continue photographing them. i'm also heavily influenced by film, some music, and of course the encouragement from my family and friends. i enjoy what i do and if it ever becomes a chore instead of a passion i'll put the lens cap back on the camera and never take it off again - but let's hope that never happens."

model: dustin

"the best way i can help a model really bring it out during a shoot is to make sure they are completely comfortable with anything we do from headshot to artistic nude. i make sure they know how to have fun during the shoot and that they are relaxed - cause if not, things will show up in the photo and the result would be too mechanical, stiff, or void of real emotion."

model: caleb

"well, i won't say who i was working with but the model knows this story. i was doing a late-night shoot on public grounds and it ended with two police cars questioning us for suspicious behavior. anyone who knows my work understands that sometimes i present models with provocative looks, but that's not something the police could comprehend - it only made matters worse. at the end of the night, we were told not to be out so late (it was 10 pm) arousing suspicion and to head home. the police even said they almost pulled their guns on us. who knew photography could be such a dangerous profession and/or hobby, eh? so i guess that's not a funny story, but i hope one day i can look back and laugh about it.

model: david

"i grew up watching films (mostly horror) so i have a long history with enjoying stories, tales, and well, blood and gore. but from all of that, my photography style is really about creating a tiny story that expresses itself in various ways for the viewer of the image. if an image doesn't narrate to the viewer, that's ok, but when it does it can be a most powerful expression. i photograph people to allow them to fall into their own narratives or have me create one for them."

model: colton

"knowing that i've made someone else happy always brings a smile to my face. that comes with anything i do, but with photography there's such a delirium of life that comes from seeing or hearing someone i've photographed react in a positive way to his or her images. it's an unrivaled feeling that just makes me want to share it with others in this creative endeavor."

model: isaac

"i believe in photo honesty, not photo beauty, so the idea of what photogenic has come to mean unsettles me"

model: jarred

always exciting. always expressmen.

chris at expressmen

credits: maloney aguirre

chris is originally from toronto, he is pursuing modeling alongside his studies which is in the field of criminology and psychology. he is currently building his portfolio and getting more contacts, after all modeling is all about publicity and marketing. chris stubbens goes express. he is NEXT. only at expressmen.

always exciting. always expressmen.

credits: maloney aguirre

"on my very first shoot, the make up artist wanted to use this liquid that looks like sweat, but it stays on you until you rinse it off. well she got it in my eyes, and it burnt my eyes for about half an hour. i couldn’t even open my eyes. so much for being a great model! wasn’t funny at the time, but i laugh looking back on that."

credits: maloney aguirre

"i am a health nut. of course i have my days like all others. i try to be in the gym, 4 to 5 times a week. keep active playing sports like hockey and golf all year round. i make sure no garbage goes in my body, only fresh food. no pop and lots of water. alcohol on the odd weekend, in moderation, it’s not that bad for you."

"i try to mix it up. i like the surfer skater look. on a daily basis i am more casual, but i do love to dress up on occasion and wow everyone. nothing sexier then walking around on the town with a plain white tee and some nice jeans. take that advise for what it is."

credits: maloney aguirre

"some friends encouraged me, they said i should give it a shot. so i got some pictures taken, and i am not looking back. i am not with an agency or anything, but i still love it."

credits: maloney aguirre

"there is not much from the modeling industry itself that i would say inspires me. it is my self motivation to be someone in life that gives me my drive and determination that allows me to have the edge over other people."

"hard to say where i'll be in five years time, i will graduate by April 2008, i could be in law school, real estate perhaps, even modeling for an income, wouldn’t that be great? i just hope that i am stable that’s all"

credits: maloney aguirre

"don’t be afraid! just go and do it. that first step of making a contact, or stepping into an agency is the hardest one. tell yourself that they should be begging you to model for them, its all about attitude. have the right one, and the sky is the limit."

"it could be anything from day to day. i try to smile at all times, even when things are bad. what don’t I have to smile about? i have good health, great family and friends and have been blessed to come from such a fortunate part of the world. i know that sounds too clichéd, but its true."

chris stubbens is definitely a name to watch out for. by investing in his studies, he is also investing on a stable future. modeling for all its perks, is not a stable industry, you have to be on your toes all the time, ready to be critized, ready for the next shot which can happen anytime. Chris will go a long way in modeling. he has the looks and charms. good luck chris. to know more about him click chris stubbens

"when you’re past the preparation and into the moment of creativity… when the rules have been suspended and your mind is running full bore. the moment of creation where there is no fine line to consider, that's when inspiration hits me"

"if i could only choose one form of art to express my visions it would be hell. that would be like asking a singer to choose one note to sing, or a writer one word to write."

"a photograph is the result of the union of a photographer and the subject. two minds, the photographer’s vision and the chemistry that flows between them. then throw in variations introduced by naturally occurring events at the time of the photograph. when all is said and done the photograph is influenced by a large gene pool and funneled through the non objective eye of an artist. so i would have to say it captures elements of all that contribute. take the same photograph five minutes later and something will change and different elements of the same subject will manifest. life is far too elusive and changing to be captured in one shot"

"i wouldn’t even begin to guess or want to know where i will be 5 years from now. it would take all the fun out of it and spoil the surprise. alive would be good"

"during the low points in my life my parents saw an opportunity to get me to admit myself into a christian camp in saugerties, ny that converted gay men into straight men. it was a year of strict living schedule, forced bible study and memorization and no contact with the outside world, no tv and no newspapers. i think of it as mind control or brainwashing. when my year was up, they released me and certified me “straight”. i was not. about a year after that in 1979 i met my partner al and finally grew up. at that point in time i was finally in a relationship that would nourish my development as a person and an artist"

"for newcomers in this field, never stop aspiring but try to understand what it is your aspiring for. if you aspire for money and fame you will have to compromise your work and do what it takes to get ahead. if you aspire to develop the artist in you, don’t expect to make much money and be prepare to be an outsider. learn how to promote yourself and don’t rely on fate, chance or someone else to do it for you. be prepared to put in the time, the work and money. believe in yourself and what you are doing. finally, this is real life so there are no guarantees."

"what can make me smile at the end of the day? my partner alan robbins of 28 years. my whippet elliot and his antics. my beautiful home at table rock refuge. and a glass of wine"

corey at expressmen

corey has an unnatural obsession for teas, believes in unicorns and dinosaurs living in deep lakes but what most of his friends knows and everyone who had seen him play is that definitely corey is into music, his new acoustic project everything in one highlights his vocal and composition talents as he shares his music and love for life, "my music is written with honesty, every lyrics have meanings, every songs have a story behind it". Here's corey as he goes express exclusively in the site of excitement...EXPRESSMEN.

Always exciting. Always expressmen.

"i had played in several bands in the past five years, and had played in a good amount of shows, but needless to say bands break up and we move on. i shyed away from playing for a little while, but i guess, i just couldn't stay away that long, music is something that comes natural for me, its really within me, so i am happy to be back again, doing what i love and do best"

"i never dreamed of being a musician until i started playing the bass guitar with some friends in my neighborhood. our band was called orange letter and we had a pretty good run for a local band. after we broke up, i started a band with some other friends and i sang and played the bass. i really enjoyed singing and writing lyrics. that band didn't last too long, our guitarist had to leave for college, so i stopped playing for a few months. then i started this acoustic project called everything in one. i loved being able to write whatever i wanted to and record whenever i pleased. writing lyrics is a passion of mine and being able to express myself through my music and words has really helped me deal with tough times"

"well, i try not to look too far ahead. everyday is a gift and i try to take it a day at a time. which doesn't happen very often, i tend to worry a lot about the future. i have the right intentions though ha. it would be nice to be on tour playing music that i love! i've wanted to get into some acting too, so who knows where that will take me. if all else fails, i will attend college and become a health/phys ed teacher!"

"there are so many bands out there and it's very tough to make a name for yourself. so my advise for aspiring artists, is to just write what you want to write and don't worry what other people think. i'm not saying compliments are a bad thing, i like them as much as the next guy does, but if you aren't getting compliments don't change your style. don't be something that your not. if you are happy with your work, then you should be smiling. one last thing, you have to promote a lot. it's not really that fun, but it's something you have to do. send out demos, add people to your myspace, play live shows etc... don't wait for someone to come to you, you need to go to them!"

"when i played in orange letter and we played a hardcore show. orange letter was more of a pop punk band and playing with hardcore bands just didn't set too well with the fans that night. we got bottles and food thrown at us and people were just being really rude to us because of the style of music we played. needless to say, it was the last hardcore show we played!"

"music is always a way to express yourself. for me, writing a song can help me overcome a hardship or express my happiness for something or someone. but you know what's really important in life? knowing that i have a great group of family and friends who will always be there for me, their love and acceptance are the real treasures in my life. if my music doesn't get me anywhere, then i really haven't lost anything valuable. i will continue writing songs and expressing my feelings until the day i decide to hang up the guitar"

"i recently wrote a song about my love for the fall weather. it's titled "fall", i know not that real original but i couldn't think of anything cooler. i'm from pennsylvania, so i get to experience about everything that mother nature has to offer. the song states some lyrics, that could be misinterpreted, such as "i don't know how something this dead can look so beautiful, oh no..." it's about the leaves changing color. it amazes me that there dead, yet they are so awesome looking!"

corey has an upcoming show on October 27th. it's a halloween show, with everyone dressed up, what could be more exciting than that? to catch on corey's exciting life and touching music click corey don't forget to check out his acoustic project at everything in one special thanks to corey's photographer levi bloom for that great photos, check levi's site out too at inside punk, very nice and interesting site!

EXPRESSMEN WARNING: Corey's energy and beautiful music will really touch hearts and make us appreciate life, even if its no longer fall and the leaves are starting to bloom.

"there was a time when i found myself asking what is my purpose in life, which part of the world do i have to play a role, whose lives am i to affect, what am i suppose to do for the people around me, whether to help a group of people in need or stay in a dying country to flourish, i want to look back in my history and say that in my lifetime i helped some people, that in my lifetime, i did my part"

credits: scott cunningham

"i hate getting my pictures taken, i would skip photo session days cause i don't want to see my face in our high school year book, back then i was an art geek with thick glasses, art was my passion, i am into painting and drawing. ironically, when i was 18 some girls at work would tell me that i should go into modeling because i have the look, but i did not believe them, i never really thought that i was a model material, or even good looking enough to be photographed, but fate turned in some twist and i soon found myself with agencies that are interested in me, and i guess things just happen from there"

" i learned that sometimes we over expect things to happen, which is just a natural human behavior, but having big dreams without taking smaller neccesary steps will not get you anywhere. from my experience, i learned that whatever we want, we may not always get it on the first try, quitting is not the route to achieved those goals"

"i just started liking sushi. only, if it's freshly made at a good sushi restaurant. right now i'm not eating a lot of sweets, because i have to watch my stomach, ha ha ha. but i love mc donalds fries, gotta have that at least once a week! maybe one day when i'm not modeling anymore i can eat whatever i want. as far as movies go, i like action fantasy movies. transformers, resident evil, etc, even if it doesn't have a good plot but i'll go for the action and cinematography"

"if you ask anyone that has been in the business for awhile, they would tell you that it's not all that glamorous. it's a very competitive business, and since you're an independent contractor, you control how much and how far you want out of it. the challenges are keeping your game on top, and learning how to deal with rejections. in the ever so changing world of advertising, you constantly have to keep yourself up to date, like you need to have new pictures and marketing materials all the time. take rejections as a learning tool and use it as a stepping stone to achieve your dreams"

"i don't know that i would say asians always excel in modeling. from my experience so far, you just have to be in the right market for your type. but there are less asians doing modeling compared to others, and perhaps because thre are standards to meet like height, so there are less competition for them. it depends on who you ask if they think asians are attractive. once, i had an agent told a client that she doesn't think asian men are attractive. some people find asians exotic and mysterious and they're attracted to something that is different to them. in fashion modeling, they find beauty in different and odd things"

credits: makeup/hair: briget henri/ stylist: christopher mcconnell

"if anyone wants to go into modelling equipped yourself with knowledge on all aspects of the business, so you can avoid pitfalls and be ready for unexpected things, its also important that you know which agencies to go to and which ones to avoid. the agencies work for you, they make a commission by getting you work. avoid agencies that want you to buy pictures or materials from them. and never quit working towards your dreams. because you have a chance greater if you keep trying, than to quit trying"

credits: erik mull

"i want to build a school or a camp in cambodia, for the kids living in certain villages where they don't have an opportunity for education"

exciting bruce

credit: ismael medina
bruce kocher is 59 and he's starting a new career in modeling. for him he feels that his age group is under represented, and that's whats nice about modeling, age is not a factor but rather an advantage, like in an organizational set up, marketers can compete in any industry by finding their market niche and focusing their campaign towards that niche. this is exactly what bruce is doing. "with the baby boomers, there is a need to be represented, i hope i can benefit from this need." bruce had proven that anybody can be a model, as long as you have discipline, confidence and determination to succeed. bruce goes express. RIGHT NOW. here's bruce exclusively at expressmen.

"i grew up in suburban new york, a die hard yankee fan. all i ever wanted to be was a ballplayer, when i didn’t mature fast enough to make it to the high school team, i started playing guitar and i joined a band. i was a child of the 60’s, so the obvious extracurricular activities of the day were in order. (love-in, be-ins, greenwich village, woodstock, etc.) i got married at 20 and was a single dad soon after, for 22 years. during those years i was a goldsmith and artist"

credit: jay sullivan

"i was filming this project and the director kept asking the "real" actor to tone down her acting, never once correcting me. the part called for a laid back approach, so i know it wasn’t my acting chops, yet it felt good that i didn’t need the direction, yet she did. yet other times i’ve gone for auditions, and made a complete ass of myself, with my total lack of knowledge. i’ve since taken some acting lessons, which really helps, but basically i don't take myself so seriously, whether its acting or modeling, i am having fun cause i love doing it, i think at the end of the day, that's important"

credit: ny press/ismael medina

"i never, ever, really thought of myself as a model. i was only after being around my daughter’s acting class, some headshot photographers were blowing smoke up my ass and telling me i should get my own headshots. they all agreed i had a look that would work in shows like "law and order", you know, like the street cop. seeing that i needed a headshot for my real estate business, i had one of them do it for me. i posted them on a model site as a lark. in less than a week i got a call from the art director of new york press for a cover. that’s when i figured there was a market for my look"

credit: jay sullivan

"i think i am attractive without being too much so. i never could stand to see myself in photos before, because i can see all the faults. getting older, makes it less important"

the logo

i received several emails asking me why i used this photo as my main image at my new modeling blog next model men, i really don't know why i chose this photo. if you can remember this image appeared in my past postings under random snaps. i forgot when and where i took this picture. i think its been months. next model men is a specialized blog, its a photo blog with a modeling twist. the electric plug and socket with the light switch represents the blog's main concept which is to become a medium in showcasing outstanding modeling portfolios. modeling is not only about sunglasses and looking great but its also about networking and building relationships that will help you succeed. the lightswitch and plug in order to produce light should always be connected. the rough hollow blocks background with the lanco water sealer can represents the real facts in modeling- its a hard and tough industry, in order to survive you have to work hard, in order to seal all deals you have to be totally committed to everything that you do. i hope that you'll take the time to browse the new blog. and hopefully like with expressmen you will find the new blog exciting and enjoyable.

next model men

i am so excited to start a brand new blog, its just two days old, its called NEXT MODEL MEN and it is hosted at typepad, which is more of a challenge because it does not have the ready audience at blogger and typepad's system is really so confusing. i sat down the whole day figuring out how to navigate around typepad and believe me it is not easy. i still think that blogger is the best blog site because of its user friendly interface, even if you are totally clueless on how to do blogging, the tools in blogger are all easy to learn. typepad is very complicated, you have to do it through trial and error, and you'll need lots of patient, i am totally clueless on all html, the last time i sat down in a computer class is really years and years ago, but definitely its after the civil war. i remember my instructor is so cute that i ended up stalking him all through out the semester. anyway, going back to the new blog, it is getting there, not yet ready, but i hope to work harder on it so that it will also attain all the successful elements that expressmen had, i envisioned it as a relay station for expressmen which is a more established site, but what makes next model men different is it is really a photo blog, something like, less talk but more men concept. at the same time, it will concentrate on models, upcoming and established ones, fashion will also be infused and lots of fresh concepts and topics. so hopefully, you will also support this new blog. thanks again, and its always fun having all of you guys...the weekend is just a few days away, so whatever your planning to do, i hope that you'll have fun!

tom ranzweiler is into modeling, acting and singing, currently he is working as a motivational dancer and mc for party exchange and he will have an upcoming theater act at strand theater. tom goes express and shares his thoughts on life and modeling, exclusively at expressmen.
always exciting. always expressmen.

"acting had always been my passion because it is very challenging, it gives me an opportunity to escape from my own mind for a little bit and sink into someone else's situation, emotions and personality, through acting, you can shine both on camera or on stage, but at the same time, i also love singing and modeling"

"i know that this sounds like geeky and cheesy, but britney spears had always been my inspiration because she had been through alot in her life and still she perseveres and outshines all her critics, she never fail to deliver amazing music despite all the challenges around her, truly her new song gimme more shows that there's more to britney than we ever know, britney never fails to surprise me, she is really a wonderful inspiration for anyone who just wants to go out there and follow their dreams"

"as a lover, i am passionate and sensual, sure a rough and tumble throw down is great every now and then but taking things slowly and cherishing it still builds a stronger love connection"

"i've never felt out of place in any situation, whatever i do and wherever i go, i always surround myself with positive and loving people so in an uncomfortable situation i have someone or something to fall back on and say oops (out of place situation)"

"seeing the flashing light bulbs and all the glitz and glamour of hollywood, as a young boy, i always thought it was cool to act and build a hollywood career, but the next day i am back on my fire fighter dreams, can you blame a young boy if he wants the free dalmatian puppy?"

"don’t screw up the lines, don’t screw up the lines don’t screw up the lines--'mr. jones did you hear there’s a new playwright in town?'--thank god i didn’t screw up the line! i know this are just one of those things that makes live theater very challenging- screwing up the lines and getting out of it, after all the audience are totally clueless on what's on the script.”

"i love sunglasses, but modelling is not all about that, its pure work that you should have pure passion for. half of it is about looking gorgeous the rest is a balance between personality, skills and an ability to deliver emotions on a cue"

"accomplishment. no matter how big or small it is that’s what makes me smile. being able to come home with a totally checked off to-do list makes me happier than anything else. but i’m sure at some point in my life i’ll be able to say that what makes me smile at the end of the night is turning off the lights and cuddling with the person i love"

even if tom is terrible at math and science give him english and history and his faves: theater, modeling and singing, he will totally be on top of everything. tom's current project includes an exciting and challenging role in a high school play that will be staged at strand theater, jackson memorial high in jackson, n.j. from november 1st to 3rd. goodluck tom in your career and follow your dreams, you will make it, and you will definitely sparkle!

"there was one shoot where i wore a 10 lb elephant head in the middle of a bizarre desert-like area with all these dead trees everywhere and the most hard, prickly weeds all over the ground. i was barefoot and the photographer kept having me walk all around, climbing up trees with a giant elephant head i couldn't even see out of. at the end of the shoot, my feet were so fucked and i had bug bites all over my body. i'd say that was pretty rough!"

" i can't really say where i get inspiration for all my shoots often i see what i'm shooting with beforehand and suddenly all these ideas pop into my head and i'll start pitching concepts to the teams behind the shoots and hope that we can come to an agreement and build up on something amazing. as far as concentration, for whatever reason i've always been good at concentrating. there can be a crazy homeless lady in front of me smearing poop onto the counter at the grocery store and licking it up, and i'd still be standing in line as if nothing was going on."
