2008 ExpressMEN of the Year Grand Launch!

ExpressMEN started as a story of rejection. four months ago, i started the site with really no concept or plans at all. initially i rode on the topics of other blogs by highlighting what they are featuring, the site becomes like a shadow for these popular blogs. until i realized that i wanted the site to acquire its own identity. before i started ExpressMEN, i did a couple of blogs, but all of them failed, some did not gain any traffic at all. at that time i always admired tiggah for all his randomness, so from being the shadows of other blogs, i tried to concentrate on only one site, ExpressMEN becomes tiggah's shadow. the site is about everything tiggah, the latest on him, even where he last ate, its a fans site for tiggah's random ramblings. but somewhere in between my postings on tiggah, i saw the need for a site that will provide a platform where aspiring models can share their portfolios and thereby get the word out. most models that i interviewed always told me that their goal is to land in the cover of details. ExpressMEN is not details. but it is attainable, at this point of their career. because to be at ExpressMEN, you should just have a winning portfolio and personality that wins hearts. its very simple and easy. ExpressMEN is just one of the thousands of options out there, that any models or photographers should take advantage because this industry is not only based on looks and skills, this is also based on marketing and at its core, publicity. i started a list of one hundred names of models. i contacted them, i pleaded with them to join the site, some i even tempted by telling them that i will talk about them for a year. but all of them rejected the site. but not really all of them. 99 models did. and only one said yes, and that is tony gibble. when i did the feature on tony, i saw the future for the site. i wanted it to become a partner of models or photographers in promoting success for their careers. i want models or photographers to say, someday i will be in details, but for now i will be at ExpressMEN and from there, i will continue to improve myself and work on my portfolio, and i will tap those thousand options because i am seriously committed to succeed in this field. ExpressMEN is attainable, this is for you, whether you are starting out in this field or already an established model or photographer. by going express, you will be part of our latest excitement, after all we are the capital of excitement.

ExpressMEN was rejected 99 times. but ExpressMEN is here today to help models and photographers. ExpressMEN survived the rejections. today, we are launching the biggest year end search, the search is on for

2008 ExpressMEN of the Year
Model + Photographer Battle of Hotness.
this is our small way of thanking all the models and photographers who did not say no to ExpressMEN. and to all our models and photographers that had not yet been featured (we are booked up to june next year) thank you so much, and i hope that you'll be patient with us, as we try to really complete your feature before the target date that we told you. ExpressMEN in just 4 months with the support of models, photographers, advertisers and site readers had proven that time is not a determinant for success, that you can always overcome rejections and end up as a winner. ExpressMEN is all about catching dreams. our story is the story of models and photographers who just want to do one thing. to catch dreams.

Welcome to the 2008 ExpressMEN of the Year!

Thank you to our premium producers: Horizon, On Display Men and Plu Blogs

And thank you also to our event supporters: Trey Cruz, Bisean, Andrew Christian, Asian Xhibit, Connex 24.7, Christopher Street Tv, to our judge site readers, George and John.
To all our site readers who had been there for us, without all of you, there will be no ExpressMEN, and to all our blog partners who had helped us with the promotion and of course to our models and photographers without which there will be no ExpressMEN.
And to Tiggah for making me realize that life is always in random

Always Exciting. Always ExpressMEN.

This blog has a purpose. And it's a noble one. One unselfish purpose. I don't see anything why people in the blogosphere (esp. plu's) won't support it. Kudos PJ!

I agree with you pisanu, cause I think expressmen talks about models but in a different way like it has a personal touch to it. Plus I really think that by giving aspiring models and photographers a chance to showcase their work i think that is really a good purpose.
