thomas goes express

thomas specialized in the area of portraiture, that includes fashion and head shot photography. he is a very experienced photographer that worked with many rising and popular talents in nyc, los angeles and atlanta. today, thomas will go express as he sits down with us and answers all the intriguing questions on life and photography at the same time he share's some of his most amazing photographs. and its happening right NOW. only at expressmen. always exciting. always expressmen.

"my father always let me play with his polaroid camera only when it doesnt have any film, so one time when i was around five or six, i played with that camera not knowing that the last exposure in a pack of film got stuck inside it, so i went all over the neighborhood snapping pretend photos as i usually do, and after ten or fifteen snaps, an instant photo pops out, all the exposures on one piece of film creating a collage of different images,i went home proud of my accomplishment even if its a product of chance, actually if i can still recall, i think my sister stole that photo"

"i draw my inspiration from each of my subjects, still and live."

"my first goal is to make my model comfortable, to make him trust me, my vision and intentions. if the model isn’t comfortable, you simply won’t get great photos"

"its also a matter of a model's experience that creates powerful photos, i hate it when my models pose so i try to coach them to come with more sincerity"

"i am not gonna name names, but one time during one of my shoot, a model get little carried away, of course this was captured in the photos so i asked him about that after the shoot, he chuckled and admitted that indeed he got excited, we both laughed. it was funny, so i deleted those shots, so no emails requesting them please ;-)"

"my photography style? i think its better you go check it out for yourself its at tm hitchcock

"for those that are aspiring to make it in modelling, my only piece of advise is to beware of the casting couch, don't put yourself in sticky situations, make sure you keep a good head on your shoulders, you should know when to fish and when to cut bait"

"i can’t say i thought i would go into photography specifically. however, i always have been apt to be creative or artistic in my hobbies, so i knew i’d always have some sort of creative outlet"

"i won't say that you can capture the essence of the subject in one shot, humans are very complex beings, but many photographers are successful in obtaining the essence of a moment, a thought or a feeling which a subject encounters"

"what can make me smile at the end of the day? job well done, good meal, friends and a beagle puppy"
